I made my first experience with ZBrush modeling. Currently, I’m working on different projects for the university. For the 3D modeling course, I created the character Chloé. This is my work in progress so far. I love the 3D modeling, it’s very challenging and fascinating. Somehow it is like clay modeling with powerful software on a computer. You have so much more tools for modification as it could be possible with traditional methods. It’s really amazing, what’s possible.

Work in progress
The image above shows my sketch on the left side and the first drafts in ZBrush. The character has some problems, one of them is the draping of her blazer. Also, I want to adapt the hair and face. I recognized, that it’s not possible to translate all of the 2d design into a 3d sculpture – as it is the other way round.
About zBrush
The software is a digital sculpting tool that combines modeling, texturing, and painting from Pixologic. It uses a technology that stores lighting, color, material, and depth information for all objects on the screen. To work with the figures later on in other 3d software for movies, for example, you are able to unfold the UV maps and other useful stuff.
